Mountaineering

• Cho Oyu (26,906 ft), Tibet:  high point ~26,000 ft via the standard route
• Island Peak (20,275 ft), Nepal:  high point ~19,000 ft via the standard route
• North Palisade (14,242 ft), California:  summit via the U-Notch Couloir
• Mount Shasta (14,162 ft), California:  summit via the Hotlum Glacier route
• Capitol Peak (14,130 ft), Colorado: summit via K2 Pinnacle & northeast ridge
• Mount Baker (10,778 ft), Washington:  high point ~9,500 ft via the standard route
• Various peaks in the Sierra Nevada

Rock climbing

• Numerous routes and destinations including Yosemite, Joshua Tree, and Owens Valley California

Mountain biking

• White Mountain (14,246 ft), California: summit via bicycle up the standard route
• Numerous destination rides including Mammoth Lakes, Lake Tahoe, Moab
• Almost daily excursions in the Santa Cruz Mountains

Backpacking / trekking

• Biafo Glacier, Pakistan:  one month shooting "Chasing Glaciers"

• Solu-Khumbu Region, Nepal:  one month trek, including Mt. Everest Base Camp

• Makalu-Barun Region, Nepal:  one week shooting "Path of Hope"

• Mount Whitney, California (14,495 ft):  summit via the standard route

• Kalalau Valley, Hawaii:  a week on the Napali Coast

• Havasu Canyon, Arizona:  a week in the canyon

• Countless weekends in the Yosemite backcountry and wider Sierra Nevada

Sailing

• American Virgin Islands & British Virgin Islands: crewed on bare boats

Other Journeys

• Made six annual pilgrimages to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota

• Toured Australia's Northern Territory outback on a Harley-Davidson Heritage

• Stuck a 4WD forty miles from the nearest town in Utah's Escalante region

• Pushed a Volkswagen Squareback to the summit of Pikes Peak (14,110'), Colorado
